Illa de Chang - Koh Chang

Hace unas semanas fuimos a pasar unas "mini-vacaciones" en una isla.... sí, ya sé qué estáis pensando, vacaciones de qué!! ... si ésta está "siempre" de vacaciones!!
Pero os aseguro que vivir en una gran capital como ésta... AGOTA!!!

A few weeks ago, we spent a long weekend on an island... mini-holidays!
Yes, I know, I do not need them now... but living in a big city is so STRESSING!!


El viernes 18 de julio era fiesta nacional en Thailandia y jueves 17 local en BKK, así que hicimos nuestra primera escapada a visitar nuestra primera isla: Koh CHANG!! ("Koh" significa isla y añaden la palabra delante de cualquier nombre de isla... ejemplo: Koh Pukhet, Koh Samui, etc.).

We went to our "first" island in Thailand: Koh Chang ("Koh" meaning ISLAND in Thai!).


Uufff, después del tráfico, calor, ruidos y gentío de BKK, aquellos días en la isla (marchando un jueves y volviendo un domingo) fueron realmente REPARADORES!!!!

I must say that after the traffic, heat, noise and lots of people of the city, those days at the island where really RESTORING!!

Y ante todo tranquilidad, relax, dormir SIN AIRE ACONDICIONADO!! y no pensar ni en Internet ni en mails... ni tan siquiera Jordi!!!! IDEAL!!!!!!!!

But more than that, quietness, relax, sleep with NO AIR CONDITIONING and do not think on Internet or mails... even Jordi did not!!! IDEAL!!!!!!



Mención especial merece la forma de llegar a la isla... y salir de ella..........

Special mention on how arriving and leaving the island....

1º 16:50 h. vuelo BKK > Trat (aprox. 450 kms al sudeste de Bangkok)... vuelo de 1 hora en un avión de hélices (76 personas)!!

1st 16:50 h.flight BKK > Trat (450 kms southeat from Bangkok). One hour flight.

2º Llegada al aeropuerto de Trat. Una sola pista y un edificio dividido en dos: "Llegadas" y "Salidas".

2nd Arrival at Trat Airport. One only runway. One only bulding split in "Arrivals" and "Departures".



3º Recogida del avión hacia la terminal en tren "abierto", tipo tren turístico (menos mal que no llovía!!).

4º Detrás venía un mismo trenecito con la maletas...

5º Van dejando las maletas en una plataforma y cada uno intenta reconocer y recuperar la suya!

5th Cases were left in a platform and you needed to sort out and pick up yours!

6º Furgoneta de 9 personas para hacer unos 15 kilómetros hasta el puerto... pequeño puerto desde donde sólo sale un ferry......... cada media hora.

6th Van for 9 persons; 15 kms to port from where a ferry leaves each half an hour.

7º Oscurece... llega el ferry y subimos a pie (la "furgo" con nuestra maleta sube detrás) y nos relajamos con la brisa marina... uufff........ primer aire FRESCO desde que llegamos a Thailandia!!

(NOTA: aire fresco!! ... con escalofríos!!! Realmente era la primera vez desde que pisamos Thailandia y la sensación fue de increible libertad y recuperación de respirar con ganas! Parece mentira que algo tan sencillo y simple pueda relajarte de tal manera y devolverte esa sensación de paz y disfrute... Y el anocher desde el ferry nos ofreció una visión más relajante aun... quizás idealizada por esa sensación que sentíamos, pero nos pareció bellísimo!!).

7th It's getting dark... ferry comes and while going to the island we notice the sea breeze... uuauuhh......... first FRESH breeze since we arrived in Thailand!!
(REMARK: how easily one can enjoy so simple moments... that breeze reminded us liberty and peace, relax and joy... and the horizon dawning was incredible for us, perhaps touched by that moment full of sensations!!).

8º Llegada a un puerto en Koh Chang y de nuevo a la "furgo" que fue repartiendo a las demás 7 personas hasta dejarnos en nuestro hotel.

La vuelta al aeropuerto de Trat en el día de partida fue lo mismo a la inversa, pero con luz de día en los 20 kilómetros de recorrido por la isla hasta llegar al puerto del ferry.

El avión salía a las 18:00 h. hacia BKK... y en el aeropuerto no había más que "facturar" la maleta = dejarla en la misma plataforma donde la recogimos tres días antes... y esperar la llegada del vuelo que había salido de BKK a las 16:50 h. para utilizar el mismo avión de vuelta!

TENGO PARTES GRABADAS... Y EN CUANTO SEPA COMO RECUPERAR LAS FILMACIONES DE LA CAMARA......... LAS INCLUIRÉ EN EL BLOG!

Returning to Trat Airport on the last day was the same process in reverse.

Plane left at 18:00 h. to BKK... and we just needed to "check in" = leaving the case in the same platform from where we picked it up three days ago!

El vuelo hacia BKK al anocher también merece su espacio.....

The return flight to BKK at dawn is also worth being here.........
