El "cumple" del Rei

Sí, hoy viernes 5 de diciembre es el cumpleaños del Rey de Thailandia: Su Majestad el Rey Bhumibol, Rama IX de la Dinastía Chakri, cumple 73 años!!!

... y al igual que cuando el cumpleaños de la Reina fue el dia de la Madre, hoy es el día del Padre!

Como ya sabéis, el Rey es muy venerado en este pais, por ello el día de su cumpleaños es festivo y en tooooodas las entradas de estamentos oficiales, hoteles, restaurantes, centros comerciales, etc., hay imágenes suyas adornadas con flores y luces...... a la derecha la imagen que hay en la entrada de nuestro edificio!!

La devoción por su figura es tal, que el otro día me encontré, en el Carrefour (sí... aquí también hay!!) estos relojes con su imagen!!!!
Ah! Y muchos thailandeses, en las típicas camisas y camisetas color amarillo - que como os he comentado en otras ocasiones es el color Real!! - llevan bordado "We love our King" (Amamos a nuestro Rey!!).......

Yes, today Friday 5th December is the King's Birthday: His Majesty King Bhumibol, Rama IX of the Chakri Dynasty of Thailand, becomes 73 years old!
... and, just as when the Queen's Brithday it was also the Mother's Day, today is the Father's!!!
The King is so esteemed that his Birthday is a holliday and his image is on entrances of official buildings, hotels, restaurants, shopping halls, etc. with flowers and lights... above right the image at the entrance of our building!!

Oh... and I have also seen these clocks showing his image, as real proof of their devotion, apart that many Thais do wear yellow shirts (yellow being the colour of the Royal family!!) embroidered at the back: "We love our King"........
