To begin with... who could guess the meaning of: thíiwíi

I'LL EXPLAIN IT LATER ON!!

Mis clases de thai son de lunes a viernes y de 13:00 a 16:00 h.... UN MONTONAZO DE HORAS!! Pero creo que para empezar va bien "ir a saco" y empaparse con el idioma para reconocer palabras y así ir asimilando.

Lo más complicado es reproducir los sonidos... uff! Me duele la garganta y en especial la quijada (lo q en català diem barrada!!) de practicar palabrejas!

En los primeros "compases" se aprende con una escritura occidental que reproduce - más o menos fonéticamente - la pronunciación correcta... el escribirlo con "letras" (es decir, símbolos!) thailandeses, viene muuuucho más adelante... (Creo que si intentaran hacerlo de un principio y a la vez... todo el mundo se asustaría!!!).

La verdad es que después de dos semanas, ya reconozco palabras tanto en la tele como en la calle - aunque pocas veces me acuerde del significado! - pero reconocerlas te da un subidón!!!!!!!!

Esto me da esperanzas... esto y la realidad de que el thailandés es un idioma muuuy básico, hablan como indios: con infinitivos y sin artículos! "Ayer yo ver televisión casa "... sólo falta memorizar verbos y sustantivos! Ejem, ejem......

... cosa NADA fácil, porque lo que SÍ tienen son entonaciones y el mismo monosílabo puede tener 5 entonaciones distintas y significar 5 cosas dispares entre sí. La "profe" dice que saben el significado por el contexto... JA VEUREM!!!!

My thai lessons go from Monday to Friday and from 01:00pm to 04:00pm... yes, a lot of hours! But I do think that a fast and complete immersion is the best to go for it... though my throat is aching from trying to reproduce the sounds!! We learn by using a kind of phonetic transcription in occidental writing, as I'm sure than going for sounds and thai letters (symbols!) together and from the beginning would quit most of the people!!

The best is that after two weeks I can already recognize words when listening TV and people on the street - though I do normally not remember the meaning! - but it makes me feel hopeful!!!!

In fact, thai language is quite basic as they speak as "indians" in western movies: "Yesterday I see television house" ("Yesterday I saw TV at home"!!)... now I only need to memorize verbs and words! Ejem... which is not that easy, as they have entonations and a same short word can mean 5 completely different things when using each of the 5 entonations. The teacher says they know which one depending on the context... WE'LL SEE!!!

Bien, una pequeña muestra de escritura... y aunque "Exit" en català signifique "EXITO", en este caso es una SALIDA!!!!! Hasta la próxima.....

Well, just a little sample of thai writing... and though "Exit" means "SUCCESS" in catalan, this time is just the WAY OUT!!!! Bye...........

Por cierto... thíiwíi se pronuncia tíví > tv > TV > televisión!!! QUÉ FÀCIL!!!!!
